“Cast all your care (anxiety) on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7).  It’s encouraging to know that the Lord God is always willing and ready to take on my troubles.

When we became Christians, we were promised many things from the Word of God, however, we were never promised a journey that would be characterized by smooth sailing. Look at how many men and women in the bible encountered all sorts of trials, and difficulties. Rebekah became depressed because she could not get pregnant, Hannah had an adversary who was making her life miserably sad and painful, and Abigail was in a marriage with a man who was insensitive, and selfish. Yet, these women eventually were delivered from their situations and blessed by God.

James 1:12 says, “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, they will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”  How beautiful is this scripture in that it clearly states that there is a blessing and a reward for those who endure trials.

God keeps a close watchful eye on His children at all times. He is extremely attentive and He takes all things into consideration. He is fair, and He is just in His dealings with His people. Nothing escapes Him for He is the God who sees! Hagar testified to this in Genesis 16:13.

We are told to expect troubles of all sorts once we become Christians. “Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12).  So, if you and I are walking with the Lord in our daily lives and striving to obey His commands, we will meet with such things as: being lied on, mistreated, ostracized, talked about negatively, and we’ll face other types of obstacles that Satan uses to discourage us. The greatest weapon the enemy uses against the believer is ‘Discouragement’.

God wants us to come to Him and lay all of our struggles, challenges, and trials at His feet. He is the only capable one to handle it all. He is concerned about us, and He doesn’t like seeing us down and discouraged. No matter what is happening in our lives, God wants us to depend upon Him for everything, knowing that He will take care of everything we stand in need of.

Before I became a follower of Jesus Christ, I was use to figuring things out on my own. I relied on my good common sense, and it helped, but only up to a point. As a believer, I had to unlearn a lot of things, as far as, how I handled problems. God began to put me in situations that good common sense could not fix neither figure out. One day, I was at a red light when a car came out of nowhere and crashed into my mini van. Obviously the driver ran the light, but he just kept on driving. My van was hit with such an impact that it spun around and headed straight for a store front window. All I could mutter in that instance was, “God help me!” The van stopped before crashing into the store. As I sat in shock and fear, I was thankful that I was still alive. My question was, “Did anyone see what just happened?”

God’s watchful eye was upon me, for He saw it all. He knew who caused the accident. No one stopped to help me; after all, it was right off the highway ramp exit, and at a busy and dangerous intersection. While I sat there wondering what my next move should be, a gentleman in a gypsy cab, pulled up and handed me a card with a license plate number on it. He said, “Miss, I saw what happened and I chased down the car that hit you and got his license plate number! If you need me as a witness in court, here’s my number.” I thanked him from the bottom of my heart and I looked up and thanked God for looking out for me!

Nothing takes God by surprise! He is fully aware of every little and big thing that enters our lives. He has all the answers to what needs to be done, as well as the resources needed in which to do it. He’s got us covered in every way. He desires that we rely on the promises in His Word, and rest easy even if we should face our worse nightmare. I know, it’s easier said than done, but His grace will be sufficient for us. He enables us to deal with what comes without loosing our minds.

Let us keep the faith and take heart while holding on to all of the promises in His Word because God can be trusted throughout all of life’s challenges!
